Hello! My name is Brooke Newberry and I am a children's librarian.
You can find full details on my presentations, service, and press on my Wordpress site.
I have worked in the lovely state of Wisconsin since January 2013. I specialize in early literacy programming at my library. I do everything from storytimes to gardening with the little ones under 5. The little ones are my favorite, but I love working with all ages!
I attended Indiana University and graduated in December 2011 with my Master's in Library Science. I lived in Indiana my entire childhood, so attending IU was an easy decision for me. I was very lucky and received a job offer while I was still in school. It was hard to leave my home state, but I moved to Virginia for my very first professional library job. However, I will always be a Midwestern girl at heart and jumped at the opportunity to move to Wisconsin and continue my work in youth services.
I started this blog because I use other librarian blogs for programming and storytime ideas. I wanted to join the bloggers and hopefully contribute some ideas that others can use as well. I am excited for the opportunity to share and learn!
In my spare time you can usually find me reading, baking, or attempting to make something from Pinterest. These attempts usually fail, but I continue to try.
